Cameras

Canon 6D Mark II

My go-to, the Canon 6D Mark II is my full-frame camera that goes everywhere with me.

Canon EOS 650D

My first camera, this crop-sensor is a perfect entry level camera if you’re just getting to grips with photography.

LUMIX S1

The LUMIX S1 works brilliantly in low light, with a great dynamic range and amazing video capabilities. This mirrorless camera is great for both photo and video.

Mamiya RB67 (Medium Format Film)

A medium format camera that allows interchangeable viewfinders as well as having a rotating back. I’m still learning with this one, so be sure to keep up to date with my progress over on my YouTube channel.

Canon EOS 500 (35mm Film)

A great SLR that allows you to shoot automatic and with interchangeable lenses.

Lenses

Accessories

Tripod

My Manfrotto tripod is a sturdy tripod that I find great for shooting video and for shooting long-exposures.

Flash

I have a couple of these Neewer speedlites, which I love for using in situations such as wedding receptions or in the occasional live music event. They’re really cheap and take rechargeable batteries, which makes them really economical and handy to carry around with you.

Video Light

This LED video light that I have is great to use during weddings or for video, and can easily be changed between brightness settings, including the colour of the light (white or orange).

Hard Drives

I use a range of Toshiba hard drives, all with different amounts of memory. My go-to is the 4TB, but having a 1TB or 2TB is also a handy alternative! These Toshiba hard drives have never let me down and are a great way to back-up your files, as well as keep your machine clear.

SD Cards

I like to ensure that I have a breadth of SD cards available at all times. Because shooting on RAW takes up so much memory, my go-to is to have at least one 128GB SD card on me, especially for weddings! The other SD cards I might have on me include 64GB or 32GBs, as spare or back-up!

My camera straps are from Take More Photos, which has a range of different colours to make up for a stylish and sturdy camera strap!

Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn @ Soup Kitchen, Manchester - April 2019

If anyone has followed me from the beginning of my “journey” in photography then you’ll know that a big part of it has been in music photography. It’s been a few years now since I took any photos properly at a gig but last night I attended Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn’s performance - supported by Manik MC - at the Soup Kitchen, Manchester.

You could say that I forgot how difficult photographing in low light venues was, but it’s also reignited my passion for music photography and so is something that I’m pledging to involve myself more in for the rest of 2019. Stay tuned to see if I stick to that or not.

If you haven’t already heard Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn, and haven’t already started streaming their most recent project “The Lakes”, get to know. A massive thank you to them for putting on a great night.

To see more shots from this night, as well as more from other events and shoots, you can follow me over on Instagram.
